Reducing Turnover: Employees Say 89% of Managers Are Wrong

Is it a surprise that 89% of managers believe employees leave for more money, while 88% of employees actually leave for reasons having to do with the job, the culture, the manager or the work environment according to Leigh Branham author of The 7 Hidden Reasons Employees Leave: How to Recognize the Subtle Signs and Act Before It's Too Late. In a Leadership IQ Study, it was found that 46% of new hires fail within the first 18 months and only 19% of them achieve success in their new roles. Only 11% of the new hires left because they lacked the technical skills; the major reasons for turnover are poor communication skills, lack of motivation and cultural misalignment.
