Motivation is Crucial to Performance Management

Extrinsic motivation is not really the thing in itself but rather a reflection of the feelings of reward associated with doing something well. Therefore, extrinsic motivation serves as a means by which we reinforce our intrinsic need for validation.

Motivation is inducing others in a specific way towards goals specifically stated by the motivator. Goal Setting is extremely important to motivation and success. Goal-Setting theory is based on the notion that individuals sometimes have a drive to reach a clearly defined end state.

A positive attitude is a must for success. Positive motivation works better if it’s something you really want to do. You’ll do a much better job than if you are trying to avoid something you don’t want (such as being fired).

Create a happy, positive work environment with clearly defined goals and people are naturally motivated.
